기본적으로 모든 FortiGate 제품들은 최대 10개 까지의 VDOM 만을 지원한다<ref>http://kb.fortinet.com/kb/documentLink.do?externalID=11739</ref>. 그 이상을 사용하려면 별도의 라이센스를 구매해야 한다.

FortiOS 를 업그레이드를 하는 도중 오류가 발생했었다. OS 업그레이드 HA가 제대로 작동하지 않았다. Master/Slave 구조로 되어있었는데, 어찌된 영문인지 OS 업그레이드 후, 둘다 Master 로 작동하는 것이었다. 원인은, VDOM license 에 문제가 있었다.
